Their emails with product recommendations are also useful. So sign up and take advantage of multiple sellers that offer great prices, speedy delivery and good customer service as well as free return in case. Other big box retailers that are worth mentioning also offer some great online sales, so browse their sites often

Google Price Alerts 

Here’s an amazing way to compare over 1 billion products from your favourite stores: Shopbrain. Shopbrain is a Google Chrome extension. Just go to http://chrome.google.com and click under Extensions. Download Shopbrain and you are set. By the way, there’s no cost involved, so it’s a “no brainer”. You will always know the best price for children’s clothes or other baby products. So, is the hype real? Can you lay on the beach and get your passive income ring in thousands of dollars? I’m here to break the news to you: it ain’t real, my friend. Here’s the bottom line. No matter how passive your income is, you still have to put in the time and effort to maintain it.

There’s only a small percentage of the population that truly has passive income. These are people that invested in the early stages of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for example. Their investment went 500X without much effort. But, what’s the percentage of that out of the entire population? Perhaps 1%?

There are only two areas that historically have been classified as true passive income:

1. Real Estate as Passive Income 

Real estate is a form of passive income although I tend to disagree slightly here as there’s still work involved, even though you may have a property management company involved.

2. Investment in the Financial Markets

Another form of passive income is investment in the financial markets, predominately in the stock market. Does it pay off? Historically, data shows that it does if your expectations are checked at the door.

So does passive income exist? Yes it does but it has to be practical. Does it require work and effort. Yes it does. Is passive income truly passive? No.

Let’s look into it in more detail as this topic fascinates me. There are literally thousands upon thousands of “experts” that go on YouTube and claim their latest system hack or automated business that made them rich. Perhaps is true, that 5% really made it. And making it is all relative here. But guess what? Their success wasn’t achieved overnight. It’s the grind in and out every single day that gets someone closer to their financial goal.

Let me ask this: if you know what works and you’re making thousands every single day, why would you share that with everyone over YouTube and then link to your eBook that you’re selling? I bet that most people that know what works keep that to themselves.

And to be honest, here’s what works: hard work, focus and perseverance.

Do me a favour. Keep your money in your pocket or invest it wisely in your business.

Don’t give it to a lot of these people that are selling you a dream.

So what does actually work when it comes to “passive income ideas”. Build something around your passion. I realize is very cliche and that some may say, following your passion is not the right thing, following the dollar is. Listen, I’m OK with that philosophy for the short term if you want to cash in on a trend/wave, but it will not get you far. By far, I mean a solid business that will keep going and provide value 5 years or 10 years from the start date. Know this; it’ll take time and discipline but eventually you’ll get there.

Here’s a plan of attack to achieve that financial goal that you may have:

1. Keep Working At Your Job

More than 70% of people are dissatisfied with their job. Don’t believe me? Here’s the latest findings from J.T. O’Donal on Inc. on Why People Hate Their Job. That’s mind blowing. But guess what, you’re not alone. At least you have a goal now. Create wealth for yourself and your family. Keep working to cover your basis necessities and start working on what matters: a business for yourself that you’re passionate about.

2. Invest Your Savings Into Your Business

Don’t be flashy with your money. Material things don’t matter. Experiences do. Invest your money into your business.

There’s never been a better time to start an online business. You can start a proper online business for less than $100 today. How many beers have you bought last weekend at the bar? I bet you spent over $100. Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and Google Ads are an amazing tool to get your business in front of your target market. Use these amazing platforms wisely.

3. Know Your Financial Goal

What does success look like? Is it an extra $2,000 or $20,000 per month? Know your financial goal clearly so you can transition from your job that you hate to a business that you enjoy working on.

Reality Check 

You’ve been searching for passive income ideas. I get it. You want passive income, I also get that. But the reality is; you’re not going to get it unless you are very focused, disciplined and keep on grinding. I’m not telling you how to do it but the basic building blocks, if you’re willing to listen are:

Know How You Spend Your Time

Are you watching endless videos on YouTube or are excited about a new TV series coming up? Dose that eat up 1 or 2 hours of your day? Think about how much work you could have gotten done. Content, planning, connecting. It takes time and effort to become successful. Use your time wisely.

You Gotta Really Enjoy the Journey of Entrepreneurship 

You have to live and breath it. Otherwise, everything will at one point become boring. If you don’t enjoy the hassle and the chasing of your goal, might as well stay at your job that you hate.

Again, we live in a time where it’s never been easier to start an online business. Would it be easy? No. But hard work and perseverance will pay off, not in a month or two, but in years. If you’re willing to put in the work, the rewards are there.

Please, don’t be spending your hard earned cash on buying the latest eBook that promises you thousands of dollars per month with the coolest automated money making scheme. Passive income ideas are nothing but a dream.

How Parent PLUS Works:

1. How to Apply for a Parent PLUS Loan 

You’ll need to visit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) Federal Student Aid site. This step is a must as the Federal Student Aid is borrowing from the Parent PLUS Loan program. There are two ways to request the Parent PLUS Loan:

a. You can go directly to Official Student Loans Gov site

b. Speak to the college’ financial aid office. Applying online is easier but if you prefer to go in person, feel free to have a chat with the staff on campus.

2. Basic Guidelines for the Parent PLUS Loan 

a. The parent should request the loan, not the student/child

b. Use the same ID that you used for signing the FAFSA above

c. Whichever parent signs the Master Promissory Note (MPN) should be the parent that requests the loan

3. Eligibility 

The crucial factor to consider here is that, this loan is only available for dependent children who are enrolled in an undergraduate program. If you have a child that is not a dependent, you do not quality. If you are divorced, you can still apply for the loan as long as the dependent child is enrolled and you sign the MPN as explained above.

4. Credit Terms 

To be eligible for the parent loan, your credit score and your debt to income ratio does not matter therefore, is not taken into account. However, if you have a questionable credit history, you may want to straighten that up before applying. We’ll not get into too much detail here but keep in mind the usual defaults, bankruptcy discharges, foreclosures and other write-offs from the past five years.

5. Other Requirements 

There’s a complete list of requirements on the main site as per above but the main ones are:

a. Students must be enrolled at least half of their time

b. Must be US citizen, PR or eligible noncitizen

c. No default of any federal student loan program

d. This can be used for educational purposes only

6. Interset Rates 

As of this academic year (2018-2019), the interest rate of a Parent PLUS Loan is 7.6%. This is a fixed interest rate, so it does not change. However, every July the interest rate is changed pending market conditions.

7. Amount That You Can Borrow

The main idea here is that you can borrow the amount that is reflected in the cost of attending the college per year less any other loans that you may have. This includes but not limited to: tuition, room and board, books, supplies, etc.

8. Grace Period and Repayment 

You can have a six month grace period after your child graduates however, note the interest may accrue during this period. The typical repayment period for a Parent Plus Loan is ten years. Having said that, you may qualify for a longer period if an amount of $30,000 plus has been taken out.

Recommendation

First, establish your financial needs as parents and come up with a clear figure on how much you need for your child’s college education. Compare loans in the market place. This is critical as you may be able to get a different loan, sometime with better terms such as lower interest rates and better repayment plans. Consider a Direct Loan for example as mentioned above.

Bottom line, the Parent PLUS Loan still offers great value for your kids education. If you decide to go ahead with it, just follow the steps outlined here, firs being the FAFSA filing. We believe that this educational loan still provides enough value and flexibility and is worth considering.

Sticking with the budget topic for a second, findings show that, over 29 million households will spend over $27.6 billion dollars on back-to-school items this year. Obviously, clothing is a large part of this. What’s more interesting and yet disturbing, is that, one-third of Americans maintain a household budget! Obviously household income comes into play here but we’ll be looking at a few brands across the price spectrum.

We prefer to get the best deals available, who doesn’t?  Even then, what’s considered a “good of deal”? By the time you leave the store, that good of a deal is no longer a deal! To help you out, we set out to do some research on clothing prices as well as budgeting. More specifically, we’ll be looking at a few brands that encompass both a lower-middle brand as well as a premium label. There’s a huge variety of children clothing available so we’ll be focusing on the basics such as pants, tops, PJs and shoes for toddlers.

Let’s find out how much should you spend on children clothing!

Brand: George (Walmart) 

Pants: Fleece Joggers takes the first place here. Versatile and warm, these toddle jogger pants are made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester. Perfect for any outfit, these toddle jogger pants are sure to also please your wallet! How about a $3.99 deal? That’s a steal for such warm and comfortable pants, so get yours today. We’ve got a few pairs and we’re happy with it.

Tops: Denim Shirt and/or the half zipped hoodie are worth a consideration here. We’re particualry like the half zipped hoodie and the design. This is also made from 100% cotton which is great. What’s even greater is the price! At $10.97, you can’t go wrong with such a cute hoodie that your son can wear anywhere for any occasion!

PJs: Space/Dream Big – this PJ set is as cute as it gets. Made from 100% cotton, this PJ set is very comfortable. It also offers elastic ankles and cuffs for a snug fit. What we love the most is the price! At $8.97 for the entire set, you can’t go wrong with 100% cotton PJ set at this price!

Shoes: There’s not much variety here for boys but we like the George Toddler Boys Stone Sneakers. At $19.97, they are not the cheapest sneakers on the market but it’s worth a look. Great deal for a well rounded toddler pair of pants!

Tops: Carter’s Monster Texture Tee Long Sleeves. This soft long sleeve tee look as well feels very comfortable. PJs: Carte’s One Piece Firetruck Fleece PJs. We bought this PJ set a while back and we’re very happy with it. Priced well at $16, it is made of quality micro fleece (100%) and is not chemically treated, an added bonus for your toddler! The PJ set zips from ankle to chin and has non-slip gripper footies. A great PJ set that we recommend for those cozy nights especially when colder out.

Shoes: Carter’s Light Up Sneakers for Toddlers. We really like the these light, comfortable and stylish sneakers. Made from breathable mesh and contrast sticking, these sneakers are sure to please your toddler! The insoles are also padded for extra comfort. Although not cheap at $28, these are worth a look if you’re looking for a pair of durable and stylish sneakers for your child. Bonus: for an extra $2, their high top sneakers are also a cool option!

Brand: Gap

Pants: Pull-on Slim Fit Jeans are our top recommendation. These toddler jeans are made of premium quality denim and come in assorted washes. There’s a draw strip attached on some models as well as five pockets. Most jeans are made of 80% cotton with a blend of a few other materials such as polyester and spandex. Bonus: look online under Deals for Toddlers and you’ll be able to save considerably. These jeans are priced at $19 from $39.95 regular price!

Here’s our final recommendations: for everyday use, consider lower to middle brands such as George and Carter’s Oshkosh as described in detail above. There are a lot of varieties to chose from and the quality is decent. Remember that your children will outgrow their clothing fairly fast. For special occasions and for a dressier look, we suggest the Gap offerings for children. However, you can mix and match the brands above to fit any occasion! This also gives you a great opportunity to save accordingly while having your toddler look stylish and comfortable!

Conclusion: 

So, how much should you spend on children clothing? We believe that, the most important thing to consider before anything, is a budget, regardless of your income. On average, from the research we conducted, about a 3% to 5% of your monthly net income could be set aside for children clothing.

For example, if you’re making $3,000 per month, a $90 to $150 per month is reasonable. There’s no fancy formula for it really. This is all subjective as some parents spend more than others. Recall that only one third or parents have a budget set. You can use this as a guide and come up with what works for your children and family overall.
